IG deploys new DIGs for Operations, Force Intelligence Bureau

Inspector General of Police Usman Baba-Alkali has approved the deployment of Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIG) for the Office of Force Intelligence and Department of Operations.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said in Abuja on Wednesday that the newly deployed DIGs are Bello Sadiq in the Force Intelligence Office and Dandaura Mustapha in the Operations Department.

Mr Adejobi said the deployment followed the promotion of DIGs by the Police Services Board, on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.

He added that the deployment also followed the retirement of the former DIG in charge of operations, Bala Senchi.

Mr. Adejobi said that Mr. Sadiq hails from Jega local government area in Kebbi and was appointed to the Force as Deputy Superintendent of Police in 1988.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in English language and sociology from Bayero University in Kano and has completed several highly regarded police courses.

Mr. Mustapha, the new DIG in charge of operations is from Daura Local Government Area in Katsina State.

He holds a BA in History and an MA in International Affairs and Strategic Studies from the Nigeria Defense Academy.

Mr. Adejobi also said that the Inspector General of Police had approved the deployment of new police commissioners for Kwara, Niger and Jigawa.

The new police commissioners are Odama Ojeka (Kwara), Ayodeji Ogundele (Niger) and Effiom Ekot (Jigawa).
