Prison Break: NCoS Begins Joint Interagency Boost Training | The Guardian Nigeria News
The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), FCT Command has commenced joint inter-agency simulation training to secure all detention centers in the territory.
The Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Chukwuedo Humphrey, said so in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.
Humphrey said the first joint interagency simulation training was conducted at Kuje Detention Center.
He said the boost training involved the correctional service’s armed team, personnel from the military, police, civil defense and immigration services.
According to him, simulation training was one of the strategies adopted at the last meeting of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) security officials.
“This is to assess the security situation at Kuje detention center and put in place adequate measures to avoid a repeat of the unfortunate prison attack of July 5, 2022,” he said.
Humphrey quoted NCoS Comptroller, FCT Command, Mr. Ahmed Musa as encouraging the team to work together and make the detention centers impenetrable.
The CG advised people living around the detention center not to panic over the sound of gunfire during the simulation exercise, which will be done periodically to enhance staff vigilance.
