New police commissioner takes office in Zamfara

The new Zamfara State Police Commissioner, Kolo Yusuf, has taken up his post at the State Police Headquarters.

State Police Public Relations Officer Mohammed Shehu revealed this in a statement made available to our correspondent on Monday.

The statement read in part: “Zamfara State Police Command would like to inform the general public that the new Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf, has assumed his duties as the 32nd Commissioner of Police of the Zamfara State Police Command. State of Zamfara.

“CP Kolo Yusuf was enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force in 1988 and served in various operational capacities including as Officer in Charge, Anti-Robbery Squad in Anambra, Kano, Kogi States and FCT among others. He also served as Commander of IGP Crack Squad Zone 1 Kano, Coordinator of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, and Commander of Technical Intelligence Unit and Special Tactics Squad under the Force Intelligence Bureau.

“CP Kolo Yusuf has completed several courses inside and outside Nigeria such as the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos in Plateau State and China, in Turkey and Colombia on terrorism and counterterrorism, violent crime management and prevention, detailing and crime scene management, modern threat and human intelligence development by the Metropolitan School of Business and management, among others.

“The new Commissioner of Police, while reassuring of his unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, seeks the support and cooperation of members of the public, while on the other hand, warns all criminal elements to desist from criminal activities and to repent or face daring the consequences.
