Sydney Geist, a 2018 Palmerton Area alumnus, graduated from Liberty University in May with a degree in Business Administration: Communications and Marketing, Sales Management, and Professional Selling. She graduated cum laude with a 3.66 GPA while also in the honors program.

When Geist’s Liberty Journey began in August 2019, she got involved in many different after-school programs while having job opportunities on campus. Geist had been involved with the Thomas Road Baptist Church and the Public Relations Student Society of America, serving as director of chapter development and helping with events.

In January 2021, Geist was offered a position as a Tour Guide, also known as a Campus Student Recruiter for the Liberty campus. She was able to give tours to prospective students and create the same feeling for students that she felt when she first walked onto the Liberty campus years ago. Six months later, Geist began a summer internship at Liberty University’s Career Services Center, where she learned more about social media and communications. When her internship ended at the end of the summer, she was offered a paid position as a content promotion and marketing specialist for her entire senior year. Geist also had the opportunity to participate in Bible studies, create social media posts for an election campaign during his senior semester, and also began creating online videos for his personal brand.

Geist also received many different achievements during his time at Liberty. Her very first week, she won a scholarship through Liberty University Bookstore by posting a video on her social media account.

In December 2020, Geist had the opportunity to perform at Liberty University’s annual Christmas Cafe singing “Let It Snow”. By the end of his time at Liberty, Geist had received a medallion for completing four honors seminars, three honors petitions, and a 25-page honors thesis in the honors program. Through all of these accomplishments, what Geist is most proud of is that she grew in her faith during her time at Liberty.

After graduating from Liberty University, Geist was able to intern part-time with the Carbon County Community Foundation, where she applies her social media and marketing skills while writing blog posts and designing articles for CCCF social media channels. She also holds a part-time position at Bethany Wesleyan Church as the Online Marketing Coordinator.
