Govt. Mills campaigns with familiar Farmington faces

Gov. Janet Mills met with constituents, families and friends at a campaign event in her hometown of Farmington on Tuesday, June 14. Franklin County Democrats held the event at the Homestead Kitchen in downtown Farmington on primary election night where Mills and former Republican Gov. Paul LePage won nominations in their respective parties. Mills said she wants “Franklin County to continue to be represented … in the governor’s office for the next four years.” Pictured, Governor Mills and George Doiron lead a vocal to Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land is Your Land’. Doiron and Gov. Mills have previously sung together in parades.

Doiron sang a special rendition of “It’s Only a Paper Moon” by Ella Fitzgerald with altered lyrics pleading for Mills’ re-election in November. Mills will face former Republican Gov. Paul LePage for governor. Both won their respective parties’ nominations in Tuesday’s primary elections.
