vaccine, delivered to homes: “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0” campaign underway across India to accelerate three-dose vaccination coverage | The Weather Channel – Articles from The Weather Channel
The “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0 Campaign” to accelerate the pace and coverage of COVID-19 vaccination in states and union territories began on Wednesday.
States and UTs have been asked to give an intensive push towards full vaccination coverage against COVID-19 by vaccinating all eligible recipients.
Incorporating the experience and learnings of the previous “Har Ghar Dastak Campaign” launched in November 2021, “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0” will be implemented from June 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022. The objective of the “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0 Abhiyan should vaccinate and cover eligible population groups for first, second and precautionary doses through door-to-door campaigns.
The focus will also remain on improving the suboptimal coverage of the 60 year olds with the precautionary dose, as well as significantly slower coverage speed in the 12-14 year old cohort. This will be accomplished through targeted campaigns for nursing homes, schools and colleges, including out-of-school child prisons, brick kilns, etc.
States and UTs were asked to come up with eligible recipient-focused micro-plans to accurately monitor the situation. They were also asked to regularly review the administration of precautionary doses to the 18-59 age group with private hospitals.
To date, a total of 193.57 million doses have been administered across the country as part of the national immunization campaign. According to the Health Ministry report, 96.3% of all people over the age of 15 received at least one dose and 86.3% received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
