54 student-athletes graduate early

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga celebrated its 259and Launch ceremonies at McKenzie Arena this weekend. One of the largest classes of student-athletes on record graduated at one of five events on Friday and Saturday.

Of the 54 student-athletes to graduate this semester, 17 graduated with honors and another 10 earned graduate degrees. Highlighted on that list is former cross-country star Mark Britt, who earned a doctorate in physical therapy.

Women’s Basketball Letter Winners Pare Pene and Ruona Uwusiaba also got special recognition. Pene is a Latin candidate with honors in psychology and a graduate of ThinkAchieve, while Uwusiaba was elected to the Alpha Society as a Latin graduate with honors in civil engineering.

Football had the most graduates with 17, including Gabe Boring (exercise science) and Cody Olszweski (finance) who both graduated with honors.
