National Student Opera Society Announces 2022 Mentorship Program

The National Student Opera Society has announced a new mentorship program that will begin in 2022.

The program will run over three months and will allow four young artists to work individually with a mentor for their professional development. In short, there will be three sessions with each mentor, the first starting in January. All participants must be 18 years of age and over.

This year’s mentors include Anush Hovhannisyan, Tara Erraught, Nicky Spence and Roderick Williams.

Hovhannisyan performs frequently at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and has also performed with companies such as the Scottish Opera, Chelsea Opera Group, Israel Opera and Welsh National Opera, among others.

Erraught has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Irish National Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Festtage Berlin, Staatsoper Unte den Linden and Oper Köln. Meanwhile, Nicky Spence is a fixture at the Grange Park Opera, Royal Opera House, La Monnaie / De Munt, Festtage Berlin and the Metropolitan Opera.

Finally, Williams has recently performed with the Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Opera, the Barbican Center and La Seine Musicale.
