Launch of a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the DC Everest leisure center
WESTON, Wis. (WSAW) – Nonprofit organization leads fundraising effort to raise $ 12-15 million for a new state-of-the-art athletic facility to be located on the campus of DC Everest High School Area. .
DC Everest Area Education Foundation secretary Michelle Rothmeyer said the money to fund the facility would be a private contribution. In a press release, she said that no district public money or taxes would be used to raise funds for the design, construction and future operations of the facility.
The Sports Performance and Recreation Center will be an indoor artificial turf facility that will accommodate large groups by having a full-size field that can be divided into four spaces. Plans also include a walking track, jumping pit, batting cages, golf simulator, concessions / cafe, team rooms, athletic training room, weight wall, fitness area. functional fitness.
“We are delighted to already have large pledges from Bob Greenheck Sr., Purple Mountain Solutions and the Lewitzke Foundation for the facility,” said Lindsey Lewitzke of the Education Foundation. “We are extremely grateful for the philanthropy of major donors. They got our campaign off the ground and helped us tremendously in the best way possible. They will pave the way for this facility to become a first class facility. “
Once in service, the facility will operate at cost through facility user charges and concessions. Any individual or entity can lease the space for acceptable use – similar to how Greenheck Fieldhouse operates today.
Construction will not begin until the project is fully funded.
