Last push to get Torontonians vaccinated on Sunday as #DaysofVaxtion campaign draws to a close
Today is the last day to get your COVID-19 vaccine during Toronto’s #DaysofVaxtion campaign – a vaccination effort to bring doses to high risk areas and low coverage neighborhoods.
While other regular clinics will also continue to operate across town, micro-pop ups will operate at a few public schools and Kensington Market on Sunday as part of the initiative.
The push began Thursday with a goal of reaching a 90 percent threshold in the city. When the campaign began, around 314,000 residents needed the jab for the city to reach its goal. This number also includes 150,000 residents who have already received their first dose.
Earlier in the week, clinics were held at subway stations, along Yonge Street and at Trinity Bellwoods Park. All campaign locations were chosen based on a data-driven approach, depending on the city.
“Vaccines are safe, they are effective. COVID-19 vaccines continue to be the best way to protect you, your family, your colleagues and everyone you associate with against this virus, ”Mayor Tory said during the campaign announcement .
