Kalinga Literature Festival 2020-21 Book Awards Announcement: Full List of Selected Titles


The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) announced the KLF Book Awards 2020-21 in various categories – non-fiction, fiction, poetry, Hindi book, translation book, first Bhasa book, business book, strategic business book, environmental book, biography / autobiography book, children’s book, sports, lifestyle and emerging trend books, and others.

The books were selected from those submitted by publishers in all categories. According to a press release, the winners will be congratulated and awarded at the annual Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) to be held from December 10 to 12 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

“Jungle Nama” by acclaimed writers Amitav Ghosh; “The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World” by Foreign Minister S Jaishankar; “Restless as Mercury: My Life as a Young Man Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi” by Gopalkrishna Gandhi; “A Poem a Day” by Gulzar; “Princestan: how Nehru, Patel and Mountbatten made India” by Sandeep Bamzai; Shashi Tharoor and “The New World Disorder” by Samir Saran, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and “I am no Messiah” by Meena Iyer are among the most prominent titles shortlisted for the awards.

The KLF Book Awards will be awarded on the basis of the recommendations of an independent jury.

“The members of the KLF Book Awards jury chose the best provocative contributions in different categories published in 2020-2021. The aim is to contribute to debates and discourses in the national and global public sphere and to encourage more thoughtful, thoughtful, unique and inspiring contributions. There will be sessions dedicated to these books by scholarly authors and critics to enrich the intellectual discussion at the Kalinga Literary Festival, ”said Rashmi Ranjan Parida, founder and director of the Kalinga Literary Festival, in a statement.

The KLF Book Awards, created by KLF in 2021, open up the possibility of identifying, recognizing, recognizing, encouraging and honoring literary talent of all genres, for both established and new writers. Organizers say the goal has been to shape future literary icons.
