Governors elected on the People’s Democratic Party platform will meet in Abuja on Wednesday to decide the fate of the party’s national chairman, Uche Secondus.
The meeting will consider, among other things, the report and recommendations of the Peace Task Force led by Senator David Mark, mandated to interact with critical stakeholders at the center of the crisis disrupting the PDP.
Secondus was recently suspended by a Rivers State High Court and Cross River State High Court, as well as his ward, who ordered him to cease running as president and party member. .
The peace panel was formed following the suspension of Secondus despite an order from the High Court of Kebbi State reinstating him.
Deputy National Publicity Secretary, PDP, Diran Odeyemi told our correspondent that the Governors’ meeting could potentially consider the recommendations of Sen Mark’s Peace Panel and result in resolutions that would be presented to the NEC on Thursday.
