Keene State Welcomes New Faculty Members to Seven University Programs News Keene State College


At the start of the fall semester 2021, seven new faculty members also join the college to teach high-demand programs. These new professors bring a wealth of teaching and professional experience to their students in the fields of architecture, business management, education, journalism and public relations, nursing, human performance and movement sciences, and psychology.

We are pleased to announce the following new faculty members:

Mohammadmehdi Danesh, Architecture: Mohammadmehdi Danesh obtained his associate degree in architecture from Hafez For-Profit and Non-Governmental University in Iran. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Zabol University and his master’s degree in architectural engineering from Iranian University of Science and Technology. He is completing his doctorate in architecture at Texas A&M. He brings his architectural background, including his experience in residential building and interior design projects, as well as research with a clear interest in sustainability.

Saira Fida, Esq., Business Management: Saira Fida holds a BA and MA in Accounting from the Fisher School of Accounting. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Levin College of Law at the University of Florida. Although Saira has extensive experience in data analysis, tax law, environmental law and all kinds of accounting, she also has experience teaching at the undergraduate level, having been a lecturer at the University of Miami.

Dr Erica Holyoke, Education: Dr Holyoke received her BA in Child Development and Peace and Justice Studies from Tufts University, as well as her teaching certification; she received her Masters of Education from the University of Texas at Austin in Multicultural Special Education; and his doctorate in curriculum and teaching, languages ​​and literacy from the University of Texas at Austin. She has taught extensively in public elementary schools and served as the District Senior Literacy Coordinator and Deputy Director and Special Education Coordinator. Dr Holyoke also brings undergraduate teaching experience. His thesis, Literacy, Justice and Love in Early Childhood Education and Teacher Preparation reflects his considerable commitment to literacy.

Dr Kimberly Lauffer, Journalism, Multimedia and Public Relations: Dr Lauffer holds a BA in English and an MA in Journalism from the State of Michigan; and she received her doctorate in mass communication from the University of Florida. Dr Lauffer’s background in journalism, mass media and public relations is extensive, having been a writer, editor, reporter, strategist and photographer for magazines, digital and print, events, institutions and newspapers. Dr. Lauffer also has extensive undergraduate teaching experience including at Towson University, University of Florida, Bowling Green State University, and Ball State University.

Dr. Kimberly McKane, Nursing: Dr. McKane received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rivier University and a doctorate in nursing practice from Rush University School of Nursing in Chicago. Dr. McKane has extensive experience working in pediatric intensive care units, including Boston Children’s Hospital and John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to her experience as a practitioner, she is a committed educator who helps train student nurse practitioners and provides education on critical care topics.

Martin (Marty) Testo, Human Performance and Science of Movement: Martin Testo combines his experiences as an educator, coach and education leader to join Keene State as a clinical assistant professor. He received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Keene State and his master’s degree in education from Springfield College. He has taught undergraduate courses in the principles of sports and recreation administration and the administration of physical education. Marty was director of athletics and activities for Leland and Gray Union Middle / High School; head coach of varsity baseball at Leland and Gray; and as head coach of the Keene Swamp Bats from 2004 to 2012.

Dr. Shailee Woodard, Psychology: Dr. Woodard holds a BA in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University and an MA and PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Montana. His articles cover a wide variety of topics such as socio-ecological influences on political ideology, the positive relationship between child play and the attribution of human characteristics to non-human things, measuring the perceived threat of COVID-19. , socio-ecological influences on political freedom, societal well-being and trust, and more.
